The Passing of Pope Francis
"Early this morning, it was announced that our Holy Father, Pope Francis, has died. His papacy, which began March 13, 2013, is marked by a deep commitment to mercy, social justice and a renewed focus on the pastoral care of the faithful," said Bishop John Iffert.
For a full statement and list of ways the Diocese of Covington will commemorate Pope Francis go to covdio.org.
“For me, Pope Francis will always be remembered as a man of peace. He was visiting in South Sudan where he had an audience with the president and vice president — bitter enemies, who have led much violence in Sudan. The gesture of Pope Francis kneeling and kissing each of their feet invites them to consider reconciling. His humility becomes an invitation for others to be more accommodating of dissenting views, and to put aside their differences. He became an ambassador of peace — a champion of peace for the rest of world.” — Father Ivan Kalamuzi, pastor, St. Anthony parish, Taylor Mill

Third Sunday of Easter
WITH ONE HEART
As a parish, we will be performing a 33-day preparation for the Feast of Corpus Christi to renew our commitment and devotion to the Most Holy Eucharist. We will use the Parish Christmas book, 33 Days to Eucharistic Glory as our guide and template for this time of preparation. Resources will also be made available on the website and through Flocknote so every parish member will be able to participate. Our time of preparation will begin on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. More information to follow.
DEACON JOSH HESKAMP’S PRIEST ORDINATION
It will be on Saturday, June 7th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption 1130 Madison Avenue, Covington, KY. His first Mass will be June 8 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Parish, Taylor Mill, KY
ST. ANTHONY CHURCH RENOVATIONS
Over the last 3½ years, we have been preparing for a church renovation and have built up $120,643.45 from our DPAA rebates from the last three years, private donations and grants. This amount represents our dedication in going forward on this project. The projected cost of this project will be $220,000.00-$240,000.00. The church renovation will prepare us for St. Anthony Parish’s 150th Anniversary in 2028. I encourage you to participate and donate to DPAA. The actual construction will begin this summer. Fr. Ivan

DIOCESAN PARISH ANNUAL APPEAL 2025 BEGINS
“Pilgrims of Hope, Missionaries of Mercy”
The 2025 Diocesan Parish Annual Appeal has begun. This year’s theme is “Pilgrims of Hope, Missionaries of Mercy” and it invites us to embody the heart of Christ. By sharing our spiritual and material gifts, we can extend God’s love, compassion, and hope to those who suffer. Let us embrace the transformative power of hope and mercy, and work together to build a more just and compassionate world. Please prayerfully consider giving to the 2025 DPAA, review all the materials you receive, and listen to the DPAA messages presented at Mass. God bless you for your generosity!
